THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY EPISODE #2

Partridge Family

Come on now and meet everybody,
And hear us singin’.
There’s nothin’ better than being together
When we’re singin’.

Five of us, and Mom workin’ all day.
We knew we could help her if our music would pay.
And Danny got Reuben to sell our song
And it really came together when Mom sang along.

Come on now and meet everybody,
And hear us singin’.
There’s nothin’ better than being together
When we’re singin.’
When we’re singin.’

The Brady Bunch Episode #1

Corey Haim

Hello and welcome to my Brady blog! I love The Brady Bunch and plan on reviewing all 117 episodes for you. Aren’t you lucky?

The very first episode of The Brady Bunch premiered on September 26, 1969 and starred Robert Reed as Michael Paul Brady, a widower with three boys (Greg, Peter, and Bobby) and Florence Henderson as Carol Ann Martin, a widow with three girls (Marcia, Jan, and Cindy). This pilot episode was all about their wedding day and honeymoon.

COREY HAIM

Corey Haim

I was never a big fan of Corey Haim but I definitely knew who he was since he was plastered all over the teen magazines. Why did he always have his mouth open?

Corey Ian Haim (I LOVE the name Ian) was born on December 23, 1971 in Toronto, Ontario. I think his best-known movie was The Lost Boys. He had starred in a few others before that but hit it very big with that movie. He and Corey Feldman became known as The Two Corey’s and were a pretty big deal in the 80’s.

TOTAL ECLIPSE OF MY BUTT

The Partridge FamilyAm I the only one not interested in the total eclipse happening today? I understand that the last one occurred in 1979. While all y’all are out looking at the sun and going blind, I am going to write about groovy stuff (not the eclipse) that happened in the year 1979.

The top grossing movie of the year was Kramer vs. Kramer. I remember that movie making me sad. I much preferred the happy Over the Edge movie which debuted the young Matt Dillon and featured devil children torturing a small town. Another top grossing movie of 1979 was The Jerk which starred Steve Martin. All I remember from that is “The new phone book is here!” and “I was born a poor black child.” Funny.

THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY EPISODE #1

The Partridge Family
Those of you who have been following my blog know I am a die-hard Brady Bunch fan. The Brady Bunch was a HUGE part of my childhood. I vaguely remember it as a young child on Friday nights. My main memories are from the reruns that have never seemed to end. I was sick a lot during high school and had to stay home a lot. The Brady Bunch was on from 10:00-11:00 every day on channel 12. That’s when I really became a fan. But this blog is about The Partridge Family. I actually remember The Partridge Family more as a young child than The Brady Bunch because The Partridge Family was about a band. I thought that was way cool. My parents tell me I started playing drums when I was two. The Partridge Family had a drummer. The Brady Bunch did not (well, except for the episode where Bobby tried to play them). I loved watching Chris Partridge fake play his drums. Anyway, to make a long paragraph short (I’m funny), I think The Partridge Family would have been just as near and dear to my heart as The Brady Bunch if the show had been in reruns more frequently. The show is still very dear to me and I’m going to now, for your pleasure, review the first Partridge Family episode.

Andy & David Williams

Andy & David Williams

Andy & David Williams started showing up in my teen magazines pretty much when I started buying them. They are one of my earliest memories of Tiger Beat. I thought they were cute, but I never had their pinup on my wall. I was WAY into Tony DeFranco at that time. I didn’t dislike Andy and David. I never drew on them or marked an X across their face or anything like that. They just didn’t do much for me.

Megan Ward – General Hospital

Born at the end of a long hot summer in Los Angeles, just two years after the summer of love, Megan Marie Ward was the youngest of four children. Her family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, when she turned four years old because her parents were professional actors who had been hired to perform in small parts on the Hawaii Five-O (1968) and Magnum, P.I. (1980) television series, both filmed in Hawaii.

Bruce Springsteen – The Boss

Bruce Springsteen, known as The Boss, had a difficult start on his road to success. It wasn’t until 1972, when he signed a record deal with Columbia Records and released his debut album, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., in January, 1973, that he thought he had arrived. Bruce and his New Jersey-based colleagues, who would later be called “The E Street Band”, were on their way to becoming legends, only they didn’t really know that yet.

Joan Jett – The Runaways

Joan Jett rose to fame as a member of the 1970s all-girl rock band The Runaways, remembered in the 2010 movie with Dakota Fanning. Jett’s cover of I Love Rock and Roll was a number one hit in 1982 and Crimson and Clover was another memorable hit for her. Jett has also appeared as Columbia in the Broadway production of “The Rocky Horror Show”.
