Britney Spears Beginnings

Britney Spears Beginnings

Britney Spears Beginnings will take you through the early part of Britney’s life. From birth in Mississippi to Star Search in Hollywood, I’ll cover the basics of her life before she hit it big. Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check out my Britney items available in my eBay store.

Referred to as the Princess of Pop, Britney Spears seemed like the perfect young girl when she hit the scene in the late 90’s. Sweet, cute, polite, innocent, talented, respectful, hard-working, and beautiful were all words to describe her. Now, I wasn’t a fan of Britney’s but I didn’t dislike her in any way. I was an adult and into jazz when Britney Spears became popular. I did know who she was though because it was very hard to live in the year 1999 and not know who Britney Spears was. She seemed to be everywhere.

Born in McComb, Mississippi on December 2, 1981, Britney Jean Spears was destined to become a star almost from the very beginning. I believe it all started with dance lessons when she was only three. Britney is the middle child of her family (the Jan Brady). She has an older brother Bryan and a younger sister Jamie Lynn. There’s a ten-year age difference between Britney and Jamie Lynn. Makes you wonder if Jamie Lynn was perhaps an “oops (I did it again)” baby.

Mickey Mouse & Star Search

Britney sang in a Baptist choir as a child. How cute I’ll bet she was! Her mom Lynne took Britney to Atlanta, Georgia to audition for The New Mickey Mouse Club when Britney was only eight. She didn’t make the cut due to her young age. Why should age matter if she was good enough? Britney was on Star Search when she was 10. After Star Search, she tried out again for The New Mickey Mouse Club and did make it this time. Way to not give up! Rumor has it that she beat out Jessica Simpson after Simpson wigged out a bit during the audition. Britney was a Mouseketeer with Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell, and some ’N Sync boys. There was JC Chasez and that Justin Timberlake boy.

After Mickey was canceled in 1994, Britney made her way back home to Mississippi and started school at Parklane Academy in McComb where she was on the school’s basketball team. Yay! I think she was bored with school (I hear you, girl) and wanted more than what McComb, Mississippi could offer.

This concludes part one of my blog on Britney Spears Beginnings. I like to think of this time in her life as her adolescent, innocent, and youthful years. Things start to heat up in my next blog. Stay tuned.
