Miranda Cosgrove
Miranda Cosgrove was known to many young people as Carly Shay from the TV show iCarly. (I’m not young but I loved that show!) I know her as Summer Hathaway from the movie School of Rock.
Miranda Taylor Cosgrove was born on May 14, 1993 in Los Angeles, California. Her first television appearance was on the show Smallville. Shortly after that, she portrayed Summer Hathaway in the great movie School of Rock. I’ve watched that movie many times and she always impresses the heck out of me. Her other main roles were as Megan Parker in the TV show Drake & Josh and, of course, Carly Shay in iCarly. In addition, she was the voice of Margo in the movie Despicable Me and its sequels.
Not only can Miranda act, but she also sings. She is the one you hear on the iCarly theme song, Leave It All To Me. Her debut album “Sparks Fly” was released on 4/27/10 and debuted at number 8 on the Billboard charts. Not too shabby for a 16-year-old. Cosgrove released her sophomore album the following year. “High Maintenance” produced the lead single “Dancing Crazy” which debuted at number 40 on the Billboard Adult Top 40.

- Her favorite artists at one time were Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne, and Paramore.
- Cosgrove wanted to be a veterinarian before becoming an actress.
- IMDB states that she is a big fan of Rachel McAdams and Orlando Bloom.
