Macaulay Culkin
I watch Home Alone whenever it’s on. That and Back to the Future are my two favorite movies. I know all the words to both movies. Yes, I am a dork. One of the reasons I love Home Alone is because of character Kevin McAllister, played by the wonderful Macaulay Culkin. Mac was born on August 26, 1980 in New York and was just the cutest little thing I’d ever seen.
Macaulay started acting when he was four in bit parts on stage and TV. I believe he first started to gain notice when he appeared with John Candy in Uncle Buck in 1989. John Hughes recognized his ability and cuteness and cast him in the lead role of the blockbuster hit Home Alone in 1990. Mac went on to do a few more movies but was kind of done by the mid 90’s. He was rich and didn’t need to work and he was no longer that cute kid.

- Culkin announced a few years back that he would legally add “Macaulay Culkin” as his middle name. His name would then become Macualay Macaulay Culkin Culkin. Pizza pizza.
- He was the first child actor to receive a million dollars for a film AND it was just a supporting role. (My Girl).
Michael Jackson
Macaulay Culkin was a close friend of Michael Jackson. He said Michael understood his situation with Mac’s controlling father. He’d lived it. It’s not like I can just bump into people on the street and say, Oh! You too! It doesn’t happen that often. Michael’s still a kid. I’m still a kid. We’re both going to be about 8 years old forever in some place because we never had a chance to be 8 when we actually were. That’s kind of the beautiful and the cursed part of our lives. Mac testified at the trial against Michael and said he had slept in his bed many times but that Michael had never sexually molested him our touched him in any appropriate way. Mac attended Michael’s funeral in 2009.
SIDE NOTE: I know this is for another time and another blog, but I’m one of the few who thinks Michael Jackson was innocent. I completely and wholeheartedly believe he was a wonderful man who loved children in an innocent way. I hate what the media did to him. He was a genius and a kind soul. Screw you people who in some way did harm to him.
Unique
Macaulay Culkin was an adorable child actor. He laid low for several years and then came back to acting in 2003. He’s still around but I think he’s picky about choosing projects. At this time, Culkin is the publisher of a pop culture website called Bunny Ears.
Macaulay Culkin made millions and millions of dollars as a kid. Unless his crap bag dad took it all, he should still be pretty well set. You know I loved him as a kid, but I really like him now as an adult. He seems like kind of a recluse. He’s not Hollywood perfect looking which is awesome. I think he’s living in Paris which is where all the cool guys go. He’s a very unique guy. I like unique. Unique is good. Always be yourself.
