Bo Duke had to go to jail! No, the Dukes of Hazzard country boy wasn’t thrown in the slammer by Boss Hogg. The actor, John Schneider, really had to go to jail. I feel sad for him, but he seems like a strong guy.

John Schneider apparently fell behind on his alimony payments to his ex-wife, Elvira Castle. He says he’s worked seven days and 80 hours a week since at least 1978. He had no extra money after trying to repair his movie studio in Louisiana that was damaged in a flood a few years back.

Schneider was given a March deadline to pay this greedy woman over $150,000. The judge told Schneider to transfer his property to her if he couldn’t make the payments. Um, no. How is that fair? He works his ass off for 40 years and then must give everything to some woman? Just because they were married for 21 years? It doesn’t seem right. It’s a messed up system where you’re married to someone for less than half of your life but legally need to hand everything over to them. They have one daughter together, but she is an adult now, so no child support is needed. I’d be on board with child support payments if the child was underage. I’m not on board with people sucking the life out of hard working individuals.

John Schneider said, “And there’s a group now that somehow feels they’re entitled to life or even luxury without work and the judicial system apparently agrees with that.” Yep.

Schneider was arrested yesterday at 10:24 a.m. and was booked into the L.A. County Jail by 10:29 a.m. Because California has far too many people in its jail system and we all know Bo Duke is innocent, he was released just a few hours later. In addition to his jail time, he’s also required to complete 240 hours of community service and pay the $150,000 that is owed. All of this because of a greedy woman.

Just because it’s law doesn’t make it right. And just because it’s law doesn’t mean you should take advantage of it. I realize I only know one side of the story, but until I hear otherwise……shame on her.
