Jonathan Knight
Jonathan Knight was one of the lesser known New Kids on the Block. His younger brother Jordan seemed to be the favorite while Jonathan stayed in the shadows. I like to stay in the shadow. I could never be in the spotlight. That would just iggle me out.
Jonathan Knight was born on November 29, 1968 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He is known to most of the world (well, the 40 and 50 years olds) as a member of New Kids on the Block. As mentioned earlier, his younger brother is Jordan Knight who I guess was the heartthrob of the group. Whatever. Jonathan left the group in 1994 because of panic attacks. Maybe he panicked because the group was on their way out and he wanted to be the cool dude who left before it all started sucking. I don’t have panic attacks but I hate being in front of people. I’ve played for a few thousand people before (I’m a trumpet player) and hated it. The thought of all those people just looking at me creeps me out.
Happy and Gay
Do stars ever announce that they’re straight? You don’t ever see them on the cover of People or Time magazine with the caption “Yep! I’m straight!” Why is it expected then that stars announce when they’re gay? Why is it anyone’s business and why is it news? Someone once said that it was like a car wreck. Umm….no. A car wreck does have an element of excitement, but it’s a bad thing. Being gay is not a bad thing and I doubt it’s all that exciting. It just is.
Jonathan Knight of New Kids on the Block “came out” when the National Enquirer exposed him in 2009. He actually came out over 30 years ago and has never hidden who he is, but I guess he was expected to do his official “I’m a star and I’m gay” coming out. Whatever. I follow Jonathan on Twitter and he makes me laugh. I follow a lot of celebrities on there because I write this blog and stuff, but I always look forward to reading what Jonathan has to say. A lot of the other celebrities I follow bore me. I wish they could all just be themselves like Jonathan instead of trying to look good to the people watching. Being yourself and being open and honest is what looks good to me.

- He dated singer Tiffany during the 90’s and said she was his first love. My first love was Tony DeFranco.
- Moved to a 20-acre estate in Essex, Massachusetts after New Kids. It had 14 bedrooms. That’s a lot to clean.

In conclusion, Jonathan Knight is a groovy fellow. He’s a former pop star, has dabbled in real estate, I think he raised horses, is funny, and is still doing an occasional tour with NKOTB. I wish him all the best and look forward to more funny tweets from him.
