Neil Patrick Harris

Neil Patrick Harris

I think Neil Patrick Harris is a hilarious guy. I’ve seen him on a variety of talk shows and he never fails to make me laugh. I, like most people, first knew of him as Doogie Howser. Neil was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 15, 1973. He was discovered at a drama camp (kind of like band camp but dorkier), and then cast in a movie with Whoopi Goldberg. Whoopee! The year after that first movie, he landed the role of Doogie Howser, M.D. I loved that show. 🙂

Neil Patrick Harris has done a lot of stuff since Doogie Howser ended in 1993. I thought he was hilarious playing himself (but not really) in the Harold & Kumar movies. What other actor could have pulled that off?

I saw him in some movie where he was a nasty boy doing the nasty a lot. I have no idea what the movie was about, but I know that little Doogie Howser was having a lot of sex.

Neil has done a lot of Broadway shows and is actually a very good singer. I saw him do some song and dance thing on some awards show. He has hosted many awards shows.

I thought he did a great job when he was a guest judge on American Idol. I remember him having the balls to ask the guy with Tourette’s what was up. He had a lot of good comments to all of the contestants and was a most worthy judge. I don’t think most people would think of Neil Patrick Harris as a singing judge, but he was great.

Twitter Fight

In addition to Doogie Howser, Neil’s other role that many people know him for is Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother. I remember a fight about ten years ago. (It happened in 2010.) Eric Braeden, Victor Newman for those of you who watch The Young and the Restless, was upset at little Neil. I guess Eric was supposed to be on How I Met Your Mother but bailed at the last minute. Neil called him a douchebag on Twitter. Braeden said it was “utterly inappropriate” and then called him a little boy who needs a spanking. Victor Newman would have kicked his ass.

Neil Patrick Harris is gay……not that there’s anything wrong with that. He came out to People magazine in 2006 and said I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest. Groovy.

Trivia

Neil Patrick Harris has done quite a lot for someone who’s barely pushing 50. He seems to have done it all – TV, movies, Broadway, host, voice over work, and more. He’s a positive role model for the gay community and continues to help fight for equal rights for all. I love my Doogie. Now get on over to my eBay store and check out all my wonderful NPH items.
