The Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers

The below blog was written several years ago when The Jonas Brothers first hit the scene:

The Jonas Brothers are comprised of Kevin, Joe, and Nick. They seem like nice boys. I don’t know a whole lot about them but I have seen them on Ellen. They seem very sweet and talented. I think they’re also pretty religious. They kind of remind me of The Osmonds. Nice, sweet, talented, religious, saving themselves for marriage… I believe the Jonas boys and the Osmonds are/were good little children.

There have been other talented brotherly trios before the Jonas Brothers. Each decade seems to have had a trio. Just off the top of my head, I know of Hanson from the 90’s (Isaac, Taylor, and Zac), the Gap Band from the 80’s (Charlie, Ronnie, and Robert), the Hudson Brothers from the 70’s (Bill, Mark, and Brett) and the Bee Gees from the 60’s (Barry, Maurice, and Robin).

Jessica-O

Since I don’t know a lot about the Jonas Brothers, I got help with this blog. I had ZTAMS correspondent, 5th grader Jessica-O, interview some of her classmates. Jessica herself told me that she started liking the Jonas Brothers when she was eight and that she kind of still likes them now. (I know that she loves Justin Bieber right now.) She’s been to a Jonas Brothers concert and admits that Nick is her favorite because he plays all of the instruments. Jessica thinks they’ll have continued success with both their music and acting. She’s a very cool chick.

Jessica-O interviewed other classmates who said they started liking the Jonas Brothers when they were as young as five. Wow. I was eating dirt when I was five. All of the girls interviewed said that Joe was their favorite “cuz he was hot at the time”. I guess Joe is no longer cute in the eyes of a ten year old girl. The classmates interviewed think the Jonas Brothers won’t be as recognized in the future. A few of Jessica-O’s classmates still like the Jonas Brothers but their love has definitely waned. I’m pretty sure most 5th grade girls are now into Justin Bieber. There’s also a cute new Australian singer on the scene by the name of Cody Simpson.

Trivia

The Jonas Brothers aren’t as popular as they were a few years back, but they are definitely talented and have some things planned for the future. It might be nice for them to take a little break and then come back. The teeny bopper mentality may fade after a while and perhaps they could be taken seriously by adults. I wish them the best and expect to see many Jonas babies running around.

Update

The Jonas Brothers announced in October 2013 that they were splitting up due to creative differences. In February 2019 the boys announced the band’s reunion. Yay!

Original ZTAMS correspondent and 5th grader Jessica-O is now 20 years old and in her second year of college. She still loves the Jonas Brothers and just attended one of their concerts a few weeks back. She sat right behind the wives. Funny how things change but really remain the same.
