The Waltons

The Waltons

The theme song from The Waltons is one of the first songs I learned how to play on my trumpet in 7th grade. I believe it’s the first song I ever learned without music. I was proud to figure it out by ear. Dunna nuh nuh nuh nuh. Can you hear it? I remember watching The Waltons with my grandma when I was a kid. It doesn’t seem like it was a huge part of my life and I don’t think I watched it every week, but I do remember it with fond memories.

I saw Richard Thomas (John Boy) on a show recently and recognized him immediately. I love watching Rizzoli & Isles on Hulu (I’m in love with Vince Korsak) and saw John Boy in an episode. That episode was from 2011 but I still consider it recent. I thought I would see what he’s been up to (other than a rapist on Rizzoli) and then I thought I would check up on all the Walton kids. You’re welcome.

John Boy

Richard Thomas, the biggest star to come from The Waltons, has kept quite busy as an actor. IMDB has 122 acting credits listed for him and he’s still going strong. In addition to Rizzoli and Isles listed above, I’ve also seen him on The Blacklist and Stephen King’s It.

Mary Ellen

Judy Norton, who portrayed Mary Ellen, became a whore. Just kidding! She did pose for Playboy in 1985. I guess she was tired of being thought of as a good girl. I like when people think I’m a good girl. She got into skydiving and set some records, lived in Canada, released an album, and is still acting. Sounds like this girl is living life!

Jason

Jon Walmsley, who was musical as Jason Walton, was also a musician in real life. Walmsley is originally from England and has since returned to live there. The musician has worked with many musical acts over the years, including Richard Marx, Michael McDonald, Gregg Allman, Brian Setzer, and many more. He was also the voice of Christopher Robin in the Winnie the Pooh cartoons.

Erin

Mary McDonough is still acting a bit, but little Erin Walton has also become a writer. In fact, she got to act in a Hallmark movie that was based on one of her books. How cool is that? Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane was a Hallmark movie adapted from one of her books. I love that!

Ben

Eric Scott doesn’t appear to be an actor any longer. The actor who portrayed Ben Walton has not acted since 2001. He owns a delivery service (think UPS) in Southern California. The business is called Chase Messengers and the website claims it has over 150 drivers. I think it would be neat if Ben Walton delivered a package to me.

Elizabeth

Kami Cotler, the actress who portrayed cute little Elizabeth Walton, kind of grew up to be a Walton of sorts. Kami earned a college degree and became a teacher. Yay, Kami!! Although she’s back home in California now, her first teaching gig was at a school in a small rural Virginia town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. How’s that for life imitating art?!

Jim Bob

David Harper, who portrayed Jim Bob Walton, seems to be the most introverted of the cast members. Therefore, I like him best. He appears to be a very private person though did give a rare interview HERE.

I hope you’ve enjoyed checking out the whereabouts of the kids from The Waltons. Please check out my Waltons items for sale in my eBay store. See you soon. Goodnight, John Boy…..
