What’s going on with Heather Locklear these days? She seems to going through a dark period lately. When I was a teenager, she seemed to have it all. She was the perfect looking California blonde, was popular, got to date hot boys like Scott Baio and Chris Atkins, and was on TV. I guess she didn’t have it all after all.
Heather Locklear was born on September 25, 1961 in Los Angeles, CA. Her first big show was Dynasty in the early 80’s (I didn’t watch that but my sister Lori did). She was also on Melrose Place, T.J. Hooker, and Spin City. I swear I watch a lot of television but I never watched any of those shows.
As mentioned earlier, Heather Locklear got to date Scott Baio and Chris Atkins. She also dated Andrew Stevens, Tom Cruise, Bret Michaels of Poison, Mark Harmon, David Spade, and Jack Wagner. If that wasn’t a big enough list of hotties, she married Tommy Lee of Motley Crue and Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi. That’s some list! You go girl.
Sharon Osbourne mentioned on The Talk about how her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, would sometimes tour with Motley Crue. (Remember that Heather Locklear was married to Motley Crue’s drummer, Tommy Lee.) Sharon got to see Heather in a different light than the rest of us and she noticed there was a dark side to her.
Darkness and Trouble
Heather Locklear has been in quite a bit of trouble the last ten years. It all began in March 2008 with a 911 call allegedly from her doctor. The doctor claimed that Locklear was going to commit suicide. Three months later, she checked herself into a rehab facility for anxiety and depression. In September of that same year, she was busted with a DUI.
In April of 2010, Heather was arrested for hit and run. Later that year she was hospitalized for a bacterial infection. In late 2011, she called off her engagement to Jack Wagner. The depression continued.
In early 2012, Heather Locklear’s sister called 911. Locklear had mixed prescription drugs and alcohol. She was taken to the hospital and was fine by the next day. (Stomach pump?) She went back into rehab in early 2017. She was hospitalized once again in September that year. This was due to her driving her car into a ditch.
2018 has not been a good year so far for Heather Locklear. In February, she was arrested for beating up the cops. The following month, she was banned from owning a firearm. (Locklear used to own a gun.) In April, her attorneys pleaded not guilty for her on five counts, each of which carry a one-year sentence.
Earlier this month, a family member called 911 once again to report that Locklear was going to commit suicide. She was apparently looking for a gun to shoot herself. Three days ago, she was arrested once again for attacking the police. After being bailed out of jail, she was rushed to the hospital after a possible overdose. Someone please help this woman.
This makes me sad and has taught me that sometimes those who appear to be the most put together are some of the most wounded. I hope she conquers her demons soon.
